Movie Making Workshop
Education Program with Marfa Independent School District
April 6-11, 2015
Marfa Live Arts taught students how to make their own individual art film. Professional filmmakers David Fenster and Cory Van Dyke will be working with 7th and 8th grade students.
A theme with socio, historical and/or cultural importance will be selected and the young filmmakers worked individually or in small groups with Fenster and Van Dyke. Using iPad programs such as iMovie and Garage Band students conceived of a concept, shoot footage, lay-in sound/music cues and edit a 3-5 minute film. Final films were viewed as part of a special educational category during the CineMarfa film festival May 7-10, 2015.
This program is generously supported by the Marfa Education Foundation.
