November marks the 111th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution. Marfa played a key role during this important time in our border history. This event will bring people from Ojinaga and El Paso to dramatize events from this period as well as celebrate with songs played by Arturo Guerrero (Telemundo’s La Voz) and his mariachi band.
Opening the show will be Marfa High School’s Folklorico Dancers, followed by Ojinaga historian Victor Sotelo who will present ¿Por Donde Vino Villa Atacar Ojinaga? about the Mexican Revolution and how Marfa played a role. Following Victor’s talk, Ojinaga actress Lydia Gallegos will perform La Noche Fría a monologue about the women of
the Mexican Revolution.
