MARFA LIVE ARTS // 24 HOUR PLAYS
Friday, August 21, 2015, 8pm volunteers meet to start creating new plays
Saturday, August 22, 2015, 8pm public performance
The performance is free and open to the community.
In 2015 Marfa Live Art hosted the11th annual 24 Hour Plays. Each year writers and actors meet 24 hours prior to the public performance to write, block and release a new play. This year’s production will take place on August 21st through August 22nd.
On Friday, August 21st, we invited anyone aspiring to act, direct, or write to meet at the Crowley Theater at 8pm. The live performance was on the following night, Saturday 22nd at 8pm - just 24 hours later. Time constriction is the basis for entertainment!
Between Friday evening and the Saturday performance, writers created a new and original 7 minute play before 6am Saturday morning and handed it off to be directed and staged by actors and directors who will only have one day to rehearse.
