Caftans & Casseroles

Marfa Live Arts Benefit Picnic

with performance by La Banda

Monday, July 4, 2016

2-5pm

home of Sabrina Franzheim

Marfa Live Arts invites you and your friends to spend your Independence Day afternoon with us before heading out for fireworks. On Monday, July 4, 2016 we will host our first Benefit Picnic. The theme is Caftans & Casseroles and guests are invited to lounge by the pool at the home of Sabrina Franzheim in their very best Nomad chic attire while enjoying food by Ranch 616, Black Iron BBQ by Texas BBQ Pitmasters Will Fleischman and Eric Perry, and spirits by Pura Vida Tequila. The evening will conclude with a lively performance by La Banda, a student assemble that debuted at the end of our music summer camp in June under the guidance of their music teachers Juan Tarango Martinez, Manuela Martinez, David Beebe, and Primo Carrasco.

The funds raised from this event will provide essential support for our future programs. In 2014 the Marfa Live Arts board mandated that all public programs be presented without admission fees and all programs for the public schools are free to both Marfa Independent School District and their students. Without the financial support from our loyal and new enthusiasts, like you we won’t be able to keep doing what we do. Your support for Marfa Live Arts matters and helps us bring new and important arts and education initiatives to West Texas. Marfa Live Arts distinguishes itself by focusing on both live performing arts events and innovative education programs, placing equal priority on both aspects. We have a long history of hosting local, national, and international artists in performance, and we give filmmaking, songwriting, playwriting, and theater workshops in the public schools in collaboration with Marfa ISD. Marfa Live Arts also donated violins, accordions, a cello, and an assortment of percussion instruments to the schools through our instrument donation program.

Our organization strives to be inclusive, so in that spirit, we are keeping ticket prices for our Benefit Picnic nominal (with special pricing for locals) as well as encouraging patrons, especially those of you out of town and not able to attend, to sponsor seats or an entire table for our artists, students, parents, and the educators we work with at Marfa ISD.

    TICKETS:

Table for ten: $1,000 (with recognition as event underwriter)

    Sponsor a Table for 10 for artists/educators/students: $1,000

    Individual ticket: $75

    Sponsor a seat for artist/educator/student: $75
